- Troop 186 is an energetic Boy Scout troop with a proud tradition in the Lake Orion/Oxford community.
- Troop 186 was started in 1964 with 5 scouts.
- Troop 186 is chartered by St. Joseph Church.
- Troop 186 started its own girls troop in 2022
- We are an active scout troop with a proud tradition.
- Many scouts have desired to develop as leaders as recognized by the 129 Eagle Scouts since 1967.
Campouts/Events:
A campout or major activity is planned every month. Activities and campouts are suggested and planned by the Scouts. Parents are welcome on all trips.

High Adventure:
Boys that are 13 years or older and have achieved the rank of First Class (or above) can participate in Scout high adventure activities.

- Backpacking, rock climbing and white water rafting at Camp Elkhorn in Colorado
- Biking, shooting, ziplining and white water rafting at the Summit in West Virginia
Summer Camp:
Troop 186 attends Scout Summer Camp as a troop each summer in July.
We go to a variety of camps to give the Scouts a chance to experience new things and work on merit badges.
Community Service:
As a Troop, we have performed/assisted in many service projects; some of which have included...
- Annual fall picnic clean-up for St. Joseph Church
- Building raised gardens for an assisted living home
Troop Meetings:
Meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Myrick Hall at St. Joseph Church in Lake Orion.
